The Children’s Service Board is a group of women dedicated to philanthropy in support of vital programs at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago through service opportunities, collaborative energy and purpose-driven fundraising. Since affiliating with the hospital in 1918, the Children’s Service Board has been one of Lurie Children’s most active and successful philanthropic affiliated organizations, supporting the hospital’s mission of providing healthcare excellence to children and families throughout the Chicago area and beyond. The Board is comprised of approximately 60 women, with diverse educational and professional backgrounds.

In 2016 the CSB made a $1.5 million commitment over 2.5 years to recruit a highly qualified physician-scientist to lead the groundbreaking Molecular Oncology and Bioinformatics Program. This program couples knowledge from oncology and genomics to provide personalized medicine to children with a wide range of cancers, especially those that are resistant to currently available therapies.

As of January 2018, the Children’s Service Board embarked on a four-year, $3 million commitment to the Department of Family Services. The department is funded entirely through philanthropy, and includes a number of essential programs that help normalize the hospital experience and help speed healing by letting kids be kids.

The Children’s Service Board’s signature event is the highly successful Gold Coast Fashion Show, now in its 65th year. Other primary fundraising vehicles include the major gifts and annual giving programs as well as multiple fundraising events throughout the year.
