Nearly 1,000 guests rubbed shoulders with an all-star lineup of Chicago sports greats at the fifth annual Champions for Children’s benefiting Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago held November 1, 2013 at the Hilton Chicago. Since its inception, this event has generated over $1.6 million in net revenue for the 149,000 patients treated at the hospital each year.

The event was a one-of-a-kind evening celebrating Chicago’s professional sports teams and individual athletes who came together to support one very important cause — our children. Event highlights included:

  • Jeff Joniak, Play-by-Play Announcer, Chicago Bears and Director of Sports, WBBM-AM and 105.9FM, as Master of Ceremonies
  • Presentation of the Champions for Children’s Award to the Chicago Bulls in recognition of their commitment to the health and well-being of the more than 149,000 patients treated at Lurie Children’s each year
  • Presentation of the Corporate Champions for Children’s Award to Tom Richards, CEO, CDW in honor of their 25 years of support to Lurie Children’s
  • A star-studded line-up featuring some of Chicago’s most admired current players, unforgettable legends and other Chicago sports personalities
  • Interactive entertainment allowing guests to go one-on-one with participating athletes, with fun games and experiences, including air hockey and Pop-a-Shot
  • Spirited competition in a one-of-a-kind, high-end live and silent auction
  • A post-party following dinner for all guests
