The Children’s Service Board welcomes committed, talented women from diverse educational and professional backgrounds to champion the Hospital through engagement and philanthropy, stewardship and fundraising, and volunteerism. Today, we are proud to be 75+ women strong dedicating time and efforts for the children of Chicago.

The Children’s Service Board has been affiliated with the hospital since 1986. Since partnering with Lurie Children’s, this proven volunteer force of dynamic women has become one of the most active and successful philanthropic Affiliated Organizations supporting the hospital.

In 2016 the CSB made a $1.5 million commitment over 2.5 years to recruit a highly qualified physician-scientist to lead the groundbreaking Molecular Oncology and Bioinformatics Program. This program will couple knowledge from oncology and genomics to provide personalized medicine to children with a wide range of cancers, especially those that are resistant to currently available therapies.

As of January 2018, the Children’s Service Board embarked on a two-year, $2.5 million commitment to the Department of Family Services. The department is funded entirely through philanthropy, and includes a number of essential programs that help normalize the hospital experience and help speed healing by letting kids be kids.

The Children's Service Board's signature event is the highly successful Gold Coast Fashion Award Show, now in its 64th year. Other primary fundraising vehicles include the major gifts and annual giving programs as well as multiple fundraising events throughout the year.

The 63rd Annual Gold Coast Fashion Award Show was held Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Revel Fulton Market. The Board raised nearly $1.2 million towards their commitment to the Department of Family Services. Highlights included honoring the School Services Program and an exciting, cutting edge, Fall fashion show produced by Exclusive Retail Sponsor, Neiman Marcus Michigan Avenue.
