In 2016, the CSB made a $1.5 million commitment over 2.5 years to recruit a highly qualified physician-scientist in the field of Molecular Oncology to lead the groundbreaking Molecular Oncology and Bioinformatics Program. This program will couple knowledge from oncology and genomics to provide personalized medicine to children with a wide range of cancers, especially those that are resistant to currently available therapies. This investment holds the potential to produce breakthroughs that will not only benefit the lives of current patients but change the futures of generations of children here and elsewhere.
Funds raised through the Children’s Service Board will support the recruitment of a highly-specialized and qualified physician-scientist in the field of Molecular Oncology to lead the Molecular Oncology and BioInformatics Program at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
