Announcing the 57th Pro Amateur Golf Championship, hosted by the Founders’ Board of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago

On Sunday, June 25, nearly 500 corporate and civic leaders, golfers, hospital leadership, physicians, and Founders’ Board members will gather at the Dinner on the Bluff, which serves as the official tee-off event for the Pro Amateur Golf Championship. This elegant dinner is held at Shoreacres which continues to be the perfect setting to celebrate the Pro Am’s decades of friendship and philanthropy and to honor the important life-saving work taking place at Lurie Children’s.

On Monday, June 26, amateur foursomes will be paired with golf professionals from 50 of the top-rated, most prestigious private country clubs in the nation for the exciting Golf Championship. Groups of five golfers (four amateurs and one professional) will tee off at Onwentsia Club in either a morning or an afternoon round and have the opportunity to participate in either the Best Ball or Scramble format. Groups who participate in the Best Ball format will compete for the coveted June Seaman Trophy, named in honor of Mrs. June Seaman, the chair of the first event in 1961. Prizes are also awarded to the second-, third- and fourth-place finishing teams in Best Ball — Net category, and the top-finishing groups in the Scramble and Best Ball — Gross formats.

The Lurie Children’s Pro Amateur Golf Championship is the longest-running and most successful event of the Founders’ Board of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. The event has raised more than $20 million in support of the mission of the hospital since its inception in 1961. Net proceeds from this special celebration will support the Founders’ Board’s $2 million commitment to Matthew M. Davis, MD, MAPP.
