MiaStrong

Hi friends and family,

As most of you know, Mia has completed her treatment.  It's time for our family to celebrate (a lot).

My strong, brave, amazing little girl is an inspiration.  And she is the reason why I have decided to run the Chicago Marathon again.  I plan to spend every minute of my training thinking about and celebrating her.

I was convinced to join the Lurie Children's Marathon team when I found out all of the money I raise will go specifically to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Program. We owe everything to Mia's team of doctors and nurses - Dr. Lulla, Dr. Tomita, Nurse Irene and so, so many others. They are and will always be a special part of our family.

I have thought for a long time about what type of gift I could give to these people who mean so much.  And have realized the best gift I could possibly give is to be an advocate for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Program.  To try and raise as much money as possible for their mission. Many of the families and children we have met at Children's aren't in the same situation as we are, and funding is desperately needed for research and clinical trials.  Please consider a donation of any amount to help this team find a cure.

All donations are tax-deductible and will be acknowledged by Lurie Children’s Foundation.

Thank you again for all your love, support and prayers.  It means more than anyone could know.  Please pass this along to anyone else you think might be interested in donating. And thank you again for your consideration. Love, Lisa
