Welcome to Renee Pospisil's Personal Page

Hello Family and Friends!

I will be running my SECOND 5K supporting Lurie Children's Hostpital of Chicago on June 10th! Last year and I ended up being the HIGHEST fundraiser out of the Junior Council which was super cool because I eneded up winning free tickets to the Snowball Gala and I gave them away to help expand the event.  I'd love to win the title of highest fundraiser again this year to do the same for Snowball 2018 and recruit even more people to get involved with Lurie's!

I run this race every year because Lurie Children's Hospital is an organization that is very important to the Pospisil Family. As you you all remember, my brother Matthew and I were both patients of Lurie's when we were kids, Matthew when he was 7 for a cracked skull from falling out of a bunkbed and myself when I was 15 for 3 broken vertebra from a car accident. As the story goes, we both recovered fully from our accidents and have been healthy ever since.

My family has always been extraordinarily thankful to the Doctors and Nurses that took care of Matthew and myself, for the smart decisions they made and for how wonderful the experience at Lurie's was. The Doctors carefully decided whether or not Matthew and I needed surgery, while volunteers stopped by to do magic tricks for Matt and Nurses found Lindsay Lohan movies to keep me entertained.  These "extras" are given to the hospital as donations of time and money, and the goal of this race is to raise money for the "extras" that make the Lurie's experience so special.

Please help me raise money for the hospital so other kids can benefit from the amazing care given at Lurie's the way Matthew and I did, any size dontation is greatly appreciated!

Here are just a few ways your donations could help:

$35 can provide a comfort item for a premature infant to ensure the smallest and most fragile babies heal and grow faster.

$60 can help provide inpatient entertainment and distractions to help patients reduce stress and have fun while undergoing treatment.

$120 can help provide small lab supplies for one of the hospital's clinical trials to ensure our children have access to the latest treatments and therapies.

$240 can help provide supplies for the Lurie Children's classroom so that children in the hospital can continue their education.

All donations are tax-deductible and will be acknowledged by Lurie Children's Foundation.

Sincerely, Renee
