Please help us reach our goal of $2,000!
Lurie Children's has a special place in our hearts as it has been a huge part our lives. It all started when in January of 2017, Maddie was just 3 month's old and we learned that she was born with her vocal chrods fused together along with an under developed airway. This meant that her airway was 2 sizes too small which made it tough to breath, swallow foods and talk. She was scheduled in June 2017 to undergo laryngeotracheal reconstruction (LTR) surgery to seperate her vocal chords and make her airway a normal size. However in May of 2017, Madison got deathly ill from 3 respiratory viruses and 2 UTI's. This caused her to go into septic shock. By the time we got her to the hospital, we were only minutes away from losing her. During this time, Maddie spent over 3 weeks in the PICU where she was on a breathing machine for 17 days. The staff at Lurie Children's brought our little girl back to us. Then a few short months later, the aerodigestive ENT team performed a successful LTR surgery. Her surgery was so successful and unqiue that it gained attention world wide! Now it is our turn to say thanks to the people at Lurie for giving us a life that we couldn't imagine living without.
Please join us in making a difference in the lives of nearly 200,000 patients treated at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago each year. Support our efforts for the 2018 Move for the Kids 5K Walk/Run by making a gift today. Every dollar raised means a brighter and healthier future for many other families like us and children like Maddie.
Here are just a few ways your donations could help:
$35 can provide a comfort item for a premature infant to ensure the smallest and most fragile babies heal and grow faster.
$60 can help provide inpatient entertainment and distractions to help patients reduce stress and have fun while undergoing treatment.
$120 can help provide small lab supplies for one of the hospital's clinical trials to ensure our children have access to the latest treatments and therapies.
$240 can help provide supplies for the Lurie Children's classroom so that children in the hospital can continue their education.
All donations are tax-deductible and will be acknowledged by Lurie Children's Foundation.
On behalf of the patients and families of Lurie Children's, we thank you for your support!
