Climbing those stairs one more time
We can see the AON building from our apartment and it won't be long until I do my best to climb its 80 floors in the Aon Step Up for Kids! fund-raiser for Lurie Children's Hospital - and to prove to myself that I have one more climb in me!
I've been so very grateful for the support I've received from family and friends on my climbs up the AON. One-hundred percent of the financial contributions have benefitted the Family Services Department of the hospital and ensure patients have access to the highest-quality care. Your words of support and encouragement have kept me going, especially when other climbers are racing past me and I know I have many more floors to go. So I'll thank you in advance and will stay in touch as I train for the January 28 event.
I know everyone has special charities they support and if this is one of them for you, the kids at Lurie and I will appreciate your donation.
$35 can purchase a Beads of Courage starter kit for a child with cancer.
$60 can purchase an adaptive toy for children with special needs and disabilities to use during play and therapy sessions.
$120 can help pay for one day of Skylight TV programming, the hospital's own interactive television station that broadcasts special shows such as "Story Time with Dot" and "Body Parts Bingo" directly to patient rooms.
$240 can help purchase two days of Rainbow Dog pet therapy for patients.
$500 can purchase crayons, markers, paper, paint and other arts and crafts supplies for patients to use throughout the hospital.
All donations are tax-deductible and will be acknowledged by Lurie Children’s Foundation.
Thank you once again for your support!
