Join Us to Raise Funds for Clinical Research Unit

My son, Krishna Khushalani is one of the nearly 213,000 kids treated at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago each year. Join us at the Soldier Field for a 5K walk on May 19th, ending in a celebration for our patients, families and community. Move for Kids also features the Grant Thornton 100-Meter Kids’ Dash. There is NO registration fee for the event. Come and join us and we promise to make it FUN ! My goal is to raise atleast $5,000 and help fund the CRU (Clinical Research Unit) with much needed equipment and supplies. Please support our efforts by making a gift today. Every dollar raised means a brighter and healthier future for our children.

In Oct 2014, Krishna was diagnosed with a fatal muscle degenerating disease called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). It is extremely difficult and heartbreaking to know that there is No Cure to this disease that will take your child away from you. But at Lurie Children's we found a lot of excellent CARE and HOPE. Krishna has been in 3 clinical trials here, the current one being weekly infusions for 192 weeks ! Krishna is coming close to 2 years in the trial and your support will make this long and hard journey for many like us, a little less daunting.

Here are just a few ways your donations could help:

$35 can provide a comfort item for a premature infant to ensure the smallest and most fragile babies heal and grow faster.

$60 can help provide inpatient entertainment and distractions to help patients reduce stress and have fun while undergoing treatment.

$120 can help provide small lab supplies for one of the hospital's clinical trials to ensure our children have access to the latest treatments and therapies.

$240 can help provide supplies for the Lurie Children's classroom so that children in the hospital can continue their education.

All donations are tax-deductible and will be acknowledged by Lurie Children's Foundation.

On behalf of the patients and families of Lurie Children's, thank you for your support!
