Step Up for Kids 2020
Fall Down - Go Boom!
Team FALL DOWN - GO BOOM! was formed in 2013 in honor of Brendan Henry Gallaway, who was born with a form of Cystic Fibrosis, in order to show support and appreciation for all of the doctors and nurses at Lurie Children's Hospital who were helping to keep him healthy and thriving despite his illness. In July 2014, his "mini-me," Alec Xavier Gallaway, arrived and was also diagnosed with CF and became a patient at Lurie's.
It is because of the efforts and dedication of the doctors and nurses at Lurie Children's Hospital that Brendan and Alec are leading somewhat normal lives and have bright futures ahead of them. Thanks to Lurie Children’s and their Cystic Fibrosis Center, they are not “sick” kids, and a weight has been lifted off of the shoulders of our whole family by knowing they are and will continue to be taken care of.
By challenging ourselves to climb all 1,643 steps, we are giving more of ourselves than just money by literally giving our sweat and – at times – tears too.
Please feel free to join FALL DOWN - BOOM!'s eighth annual trek to the top of the Aon Building on Sunday, January 26th as a team member. Can't, or just don't want to, participate; then feel free to submit a donation.
