Please Support my Ride Across the U.S.
From August 21 through October 4, 2016, I will be cycling across the U.S.: covering 3,750 miles and climbing 145,590 feet in 40 days of riding.
While completing the ride is an important personal goal, I'm hoping that--with your help--the ride can also help raise money for Chicago charities, including Lurie Children's Hospital.
As many of you know, I started long distance cycling a few years ago, completing my first, multi-century ride with my daughter, Sarah, who was then 14 years old. We did the ride not only to raise money for Children's Memorial Hospital, now the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, but also to create hope for the critically ill children that the hospital serves. When Sarah was 9, she ahd acute viral myocarditis, a severe type of heart failure. She had less than a 10% chance of survival. Yet, she miraculously recovered, and just 5 years later was able to cycle 220 miles in 1 1/2 days.
Please consider making a donation to Lurie Children’s Hospital. In addition to donating a fixed amount, you can also make a contribution based on how many miles I complete, for example: $1/mile or $3,750; $.10 per mile or $375, or $.01 per mile or $37.50.
Thank you for your consideration and support.
