Ray Tries to Run a 5k (Episode II)
This year marks my second attempt to run a 5k #forthekids. After two intense weeks of training last year, I completed the 5k in 30 minutes and 2 seconds. This year, my goal is to get under 30 minutes!
I'll be running on behalf of the Junior Council again this year, which supports the Pediatric & Adolescent HIV/AIDS Program at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Our mission is to support the program and ensure all children with HIV/AIDS, regardless of their ability to pay, have access to high quality pediatric healthcare.
Support my efforts for the 2018 Move for the Kids 5K Walk/Run by making a gift today. Every dollar raised means a brighter and healthier future for our children.
All donations are tax-deductible and will be acknowledged by Lurie Children's Foundation.
On behalf of the patients and families of Lurie Children's, thank you for your support!

Back At It
Today was my first training run! Made it a full 20 minutes thanks to some nice overcast Chicago weather and my The OC playlist. Loved running through Lincoln Park... didn't love the muddy pathways....
Thinking I'll do my first distance run early next week! Until then!
Spring is Here
Well it looks like spring has finally arrived to Chicago. Which means it's time for me to hit the pavement and start training for this 5k! Really hoping to beat last year's time of 30min and 2sec. Open to any training advice from friends/family!
I'll post again after my first run. Wish me luck!
