*Runners must complete all Lurie Children’s Marathon Team requirements AND Bank of America Chicago Marathon registration requirements. Registering for our team DOES NOT automatically register you for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon.

Commitments for becoming a Lurie Children’s Marathon Team member:

By joining the Lurie Children’s Marathon Team, each runner must agree to the following:*

  • Pay a $50 non-refundable participation fee, due with team registration.
  • Pay your $195 ($220 for non-US residents) Bank of America Fee. This will be paid separately to the Chicago Marathon. Instructions will be provided to complete this process.
  • Sign up for complimentary Chicago Endurance Sports 20-week training program. Instructions will be provided to complete this process.
  • Guarantee minimum pledge amount with a credit card at time of team registration.
  • Fundraise based on your minimum commitment, as outlined below, by November 8, 2017.
    • Runners who joined our team and needed a spot for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon before November 29: $1,000
    • Runners who joined our team on or after November 30 and needed a spot for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon: $1,500**
    • Runners who join our team at any time and secured their own spot for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon either through the lottery, legacy runner, time qualifier: $1,000
  • Meet the following fundraising deadlines:
    • June 1 - 25% of your fundraising minimum (suggested deadline)
    • August 1 - 50% of your fundraising minimum (suggested deadline)
    • October 1 - 75% of your fundraising minimum (firm deadline)
    • November 8 - 100% of your fundraising minimum (firm deadline)

*Runners must register for both the Lurie Children’s Marathon Team AND fulfill the registration and payment requirements for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon.

Runners who experience injuries during their training and have been advised by a medical doctor not to complete the marathon will be required to fundraise 50% of their minimum requirement and must provide medical documentation. If a runner decides not to complete the Chicago Marathon for other reasons, they are responsible for their full fundraising commitment.
