  1. How do I register?

    Simply register today as an individual or as part of a team. If you join as an individual you will be placed on a team for the event.


  1. What are the fundraising requirements?

    As a participant, you are required to raise $500. We provide many fundraising tips and tools, including a personal fundraising page, to help you reach out to your network of family, friends and co-workers. You will be surprised at how easy it is! If you have a team of 7 or more, the fundraising requirement drops to $400/person and is collective among the team.
  2. How long do I have to raise my funds?

    All donations are due on Sunday, April 1.

  3. How can I find out if my company offers a matching gift?

    The matching gifts finder can be helpful in determining which companies match donations. Complete a matching gift form (available from your company’s Human Resources) and send it to, or you can send it to the following address:

  4. Can I turn in checks and cash?

    Please make checks payable to Lurie Children’s Foundation. Complete the donation form and attach it to any donations so that we can add it to your fundraising total and acknowledge your donors. You can also bring your cash/checks with you on the day of the event or mail them to the following address:

Event Details

  1. Why did CHICAGO Dance Marathon change from a 13.1-hour event to an 8-hour event?

    We pride ourselves on listening to the feedback of our CDM participants in order to improve the event each year. Over the years, many of our participants recommended that we shorten the length of the event in order to provide an even better experience. We’re giving you five hours back so you can give us your best eight!

  2. Do I have to dance the whole time?

    CHICAGO Dance Marathon is about much more than just dancing. There will be 8 hours of entertainment, great food, games, activities, and best of all fun. We simply ask that you remain standing for the duration of the event.

  3. What time should I arrive on the day of the event?

    Registration opens at 7 a.m., and the event starts at 8 a.m. Please arrive early. There will be a coat/bag check, however, we ask that you bring as little as possible with you.

  4. What is provided during the event?

    Dancers will receive a t-shirt at the event. Complimentary food and beverages will be available all day long, including breakfast. Let us know in advance if you need to bring any of your own food, and we can store it for you.

  5. Can I have guests come and visit me at Dance Marathon?

    Yes! We encourage people to cheer you on at the event. Guests will need to register upon arrival and can stay for up to an hour. They are also welcome to make a donation to support your efforts, if they have not done so already.
