When?

OCT 5 - 9, 2020

Events will take place over the noon hour each day during the week.

*If the timing doesn’t work for your team, please email tmccartan@luriechildrens.org for a custom time for your team.

All participants should have video enabled on their device to participant in the competitions virtually.

How?

After a short daily opening to the games with an update on standings, each company team will enter a Zoom Breakout Room with a Lurie Children’s “Coacheree” (that’s coach, referee). Then company teams will participate in the set activity, while the Coacheree times or scores the competition.

Minute to Find It - sponsored by Becker’s Healthcare

MONDAY, OCT 5

12:00 P.M. 1:00 P.M.

Do you have a house full of random items? Do you have a photographic memory of what’s in your kitchen cabinets or drawers? Minute to Find It will put your speed and memory to the test! The Coacheree will provide a list of items for a team to find in their own homes or offices. When the event starts, each team will need to find a common item as quickly as possible. As soon the item is found and shown to the Coacheree, the timer stops. There will be multiple rounds and points are awarded based on the combined team time.

Pictionary & Charades - sponsored by AAR Corp

TUESDAY, OCT 6

12:00 P.M. 1:00 P.M.

Are you a drama queen or king? Are your doodles museum-worthy? Put your skills to the test by participating in either Pictionary or Charades. Each participant on the team can choose to act out or draw the scenario presented by the Coacheree. Points will be awarded based on the total number of correct guesses.

Spell-aerobics - sponsored by Great Lakes Coca Cola

WEDNESDAY, OCT 7

12:00 P.M. 1:00 P.M.

Are you a fitness fanatic? Have you dreamed of doing synchronized jumping jacks with your co-workers and pals? Then don’t miss your chance to participate in Spell-aerobics! Team members must complete an aerobic activity a certain number of times to spell out a word. For example, 10 jumping jacks equals the first letter of a phrase, and 10 burpees would equal the next letter, and so on. The team will participate together for the first two words, followed by individual team members completing an exercise for the remaining letters.

THURSDAY, OCT 8

12:00 P.M. 1:00 P.M.

Do you know the capital of Mozambique? Can you remember the name of Doc Brown’s dog in Back to the Future? Do you know what year Lurie Children’s was founded? If so, trivia is the event for you! All team members are encouraged to participate and put their heads together to come up with the answers to the Coacheree’s trivia questions. Points will be awarded based on correct answers.

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS NEEDED: 8 - 20
SUPPLIES NEEDED: Sharp minds and quick wits!

Pong Shot

4:00 P.M. 5:00 P.M.

If you dream of hitting the game winning shot then don’t miss the chance to lead your team to victory in Pong Shot! Each participant will have 10 chances to throw a ping pong ball (or ball of tinfoil) into three cups set up6 feet away. 1 point will be awarded each time the participant gets the ball into the cup. The total points of all participants will be the team total.

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS NEEDED: 8
SUPPLIES NEEDED: Ping pong balls and Solo cups (or cup with top diameter of 3.5 inches).

Flip Cup Relay

FRIDAY, OCT 9

4:00 P.M. 4:30 P.M.

Put your dexterity, timing and skill to the test! The Flip Cup Relay provides every team member the opportunity to participate. This game requires 20 participants. For teams under 20 people, participants will have to do more than 1 turn. Each participant will go one at a time and try to flip a cup 180 degrees. Once that occurs, the next participant will go. Participants cannot do back to back turns. The team with the fastest time will come in first place.

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS NEEDED: A maximum of 20
SUPPLIES NEEDED: Solo cup, or equivalent lightweight paper or plastic cup.
